kobe vs. lebron? i think not.

the leagues two best players

the league's two best players

last sunday, the lakers and cavaliers played in what was probably the biggest game so far of the NBA season…

before we even get to talking about the game, we gotta look at what happened in the days leading up to the Lakers-Cavaliers showdown at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland…

Kobe dropped 61 points at Madison Square Garden, which set the mark for the most points scored by any person in the building that is regarded as the biggest stage in all of basketball… all of that playing in only 36 minutes… don’t forget the 20/20 free throws as well…  the shots this guy was making were incredible…

then 2 nights later, Lebron James comes in to the Garden, gets an *almost triple double to go along with his 52 points… which is kinda ridiculous if you think about it… this guy is so physically dominant over everyone else on the court… and hes only gonna get better and better as time goes on…

but what seemed to be a destined head-to-head matchup between the league’s two most valuable players, turned out to be a matchup between two dominant, competitive, well-rounded teams…

Lakers came in to sunday with a 6 game road winning streak, while the Cavaliers had a ridiculous 23-0 perfect record at home this season…

kobe had the flu, lebron shot poorly, and this game was basically about who, between kobe and lebron, had the better teammates… and kobe came on top…

people have been counting out the Lakers after Andrew Bynum went down with the injury, but i think the lakers have made a huge statement this past week, going 4-0 without Bynum in the lineup, including road wins over the Celtics and the Cavaliers…

Lamar Odom’s versatility is highly underrated… Odom pretty much dominated that game with 28 points and 16 reboudns… that Odom-Gasol combo works better than the Gasol-Bynum combo i think… besides odom, gasol, and bryant, they have SOLID role players who can all shoot the ball such as Ariza, Walton, Fisher, Vujacic, Farmar… thats such a deep bench…

After Shaq left the lakers, Kobe never really had a solid team…  but now he does… so watch out… Unless the celtics or cavaliers make a midseason trade before the deadline, no team is gonna stand up to the lakers in the post season when they get Bynum back… go lakers…

anyways… as for the wizards… lets just wait til next season and draft Blake Griffin…. maybe Hasheem Thabeet… i dont know… but either way if we’re patient enough, we can get Gilbert and Haywood back, and we’ll be straight

peace
